Message type: E = Error
Message class: UGX2 - Messages for XBRL Reporting
Message number: 807
Message text: A characteristic value is not assigned to dimension value &1
Dimension &V2& is an explicit dimension. That means that the possible
values of the dimension are specified in the definition of the taxonomy.
The prerequisite for the system considering the dimension values when
creating instance documents is that the values of fields are assigned to
the possible values of the dimension.
It is possible that not assigning the values of fields to certain values
of the dimension is intentional, assuming that the affected dimension
value is <ZH>not</> supposed to be contained in the instance document.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Check if the mapped values are sufficient.

- A characteristic value is not assigned to dimension value &1 ?The SAP error message UGX2807 indicates that a characteristic value is not assigned to a dimension value in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA. This error typically arises when there is a mismatch or missing assignment between the characteristic values and the dimension values in a data model or InfoObject.
Cause:
- Missing Assignment: The characteristic value that you are trying to use is not assigned to the specified dimension value. This can happen if the characteristic value was not properly defined or linked in the data model.
- Data Model Changes: If there have been recent changes to the data model, such as adding new characteristics or dimensions, the necessary assignments may not have been updated accordingly.
- Data Loading Issues: If data was loaded into the system without the necessary mappings, it could lead to this error.
- Inconsistent Data: There may be inconsistencies in the data that prevent the system from recognizing the relationship between the characteristic and dimension values.
Solution:
- Check Assignments: Go to the relevant InfoObject or data model and verify that the characteristic value is correctly assigned to the dimension value. You can do this in the SAP BW modeling tools.
- Update Data Model: If there have been changes to the data model, ensure that all necessary assignments are updated. This may involve reassigning characteristic values to the appropriate dimension values.
- Data Validation: Validate the data being loaded into the system to ensure that it contains the necessary mappings and assignments. You may need to correct the source data or the transformation rules.
- Reprocess Data: If the issue arose during a data load, consider reprocessing the data load after making the necessary corrections to the assignments.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific InfoObject or data model you are working with for any additional guidance or troubleshooting steps.

If the problem persists after trying the above solutions, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a technical consultant who specializes in SAP BW or HANA.
