What causes this issue?

&V1& is a status-relevant field. To reduce runtime, the system attempts
to reverse the mapping rules of the status-relevant fields. This
minimizes the volume of data that is read.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
