Message type: E = Error
Message class: UCT8 - Message class for UCT8(mapping)
Message number: 253
Message text: Inversion of the mapping rule for &1 is possibly incorrect
&V1& is a status-relevant field. The mapping rule cannot be reversed
unambiguously. Therefore, the system is unable to uniquely identify the
source selection condition. Thus, great volumes of data are selected,
which can cause the task to run considerably longer.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
The following changes in the mapping operator can remedy this problem:
Reduce the number of source fields that are connected to each other.
Enter the length for each source field and deselect the <ZK>Trim
Marginal Spaces </>indicator.
Note that this is only a warning. You can still use the mapping rule.

- Inversion of the mapping rule for &1 is possibly incorrect ?The SAP error message UCT8253, which states "Inversion of the mapping rule for &1 is possibly incorrect," typically occurs in the context of the SAP system's handling of mapping rules, particularly in the area of data transformation or integration processes. This error suggests that there is a potential issue with the way the mapping rules are defined or applied, leading to an inversion or mismatch in the expected data transformation.
Cause:
- Incorrect Mapping Configuration: The mapping rules may have been defined incorrectly, leading to an inversion in how data is transformed or interpreted.
- Data Inconsistencies: The source data may not match the expected format or structure, causing the mapping to fail or behave unexpectedly.
- Logical Errors: There may be logical errors in the mapping rules that result in incorrect data transformations.
- Changes in Data Structure: If there have been recent changes to the data structure or the source system, the existing mapping rules may no longer be valid.
Solution:
- Review Mapping Rules: Check the mapping rules defined for the specific object (indicated by &1 in the error message). Ensure that they are correctly configured and logically sound.
- Test with Sample Data: Use sample data to test the mapping rules and identify where the inversion occurs. This can help pinpoint the specific part of the mapping that is causing the issue.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or guidelines related to mapping rules to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Adjust Data Structure: If the source data structure has changed, update the mapping rules accordingly to reflect these changes.
- Seek Help from SAP Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance, especially if this is a critical issue affecting business processes.
