Message text: Characteristic &1, attribute &2: Local attribute &3 is not date-dependent
You want to link attribute &V2& of characteristic &V1& with local
attribute &V3&. Note that although the assignment of the values of this
attribute to the characteristic values of characteristic &V1& in the
consolidation system is time-dependent, there is no exact date that
reflects the change. (An example would be because the assignment is
dependent only on the fiscal year, but not the period.) However, at the
same time, the technical storage of the assignment in BW is dependent on
a specific date. Thus, the system converts a representative period (for
example, that last posting period of the current fiscal year) into a
date using the fiscal year variant.
This can cause undesired results if the characteristic &V1& is
simultaneously used in consolidation areas that have different fiscal
year variants.
If, indeed, more than one fiscal year variant is used in the
consolidation areas of data basis &V4&, the system displays this message
as a warning. Otherwise, this message is merely informational.
Check whether you really want to use characteristic &V1& in
consolidation areas with different fiscal year variants. If you do,
decide whether the link to the local attribute is still desired, despite
the functional restrictions mentioned above.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Modify the Attribute:
- If the attribute needs to be date-dependent, you may need to create a new attribute with the correct settings or modify the existing one to include date dependency.
- Ensure that the attribute is correctly linked to the characteristic.
Review Characteristic Usage:
- Check how the characteristic is being used in the configuration profiles or in the material master. Ensure that the expected attributes align with the configuration requirements.
Testing:
- After making changes, test the configuration to ensure that the error no longer occurs and that the system behaves as expected.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources for more detailed guidance on setting up date-dependent attributes and characteristics.
