TU138
- Interval btw. sched. MR date and end MR period must be less than &1 days ?The SAP error message TU138 indicates that there is an issue with the scheduling of maintenance plans in the system. Specifically, it means that the interval between the scheduled maintenance release (MR) date and the end of the maintenance period is greater than the allowed limit defined in the system configuration.
Cause:
The error typically arises due to one of the following reasons:
- Configuration Settings: The system has a configuration setting that restricts the maximum interval allowed between the scheduled maintenance release date and the end of the maintenance period. This setting is often defined in the maintenance planning parameters.
- Incorrect Dates: The dates entered for the maintenance plan or the maintenance order may not align correctly, leading to an interval that exceeds the allowed limit.
- Planning Parameters: The planning parameters for the maintenance plan may not be set correctly, causing the system to reject the scheduling.
Solution:
To resolve the TU138 error, you can take the following steps:
Check Configuration Settings:
- Go to the configuration settings for maintenance planning in SAP (Transaction SPRO).
- Navigate to the relevant section for maintenance planning and check the parameters related to scheduling and maintenance release intervals.
- Adjust the settings if necessary to allow for a longer interval, if that is appropriate for your business process.
Review Dates:
- Verify the scheduled maintenance release date and the end of the maintenance period in the maintenance plan.
- Ensure that the dates are set correctly and that the interval between them does not exceed the configured limit.
Adjust Maintenance Plan:
- If the maintenance plan is set up incorrectly, consider adjusting the maintenance cycle or the scheduling parameters to ensure compliance with the defined limits.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or help resources for additional guidance on maintenance planning and scheduling parameters.
Testing:
- After making changes, test the scheduling again to ensure that the error is resolved.
