RSM2711
- Several update records for the same PSA record. Not all invalid. ?The SAP error message RSM2711 indicates that there are multiple update records for the same Persistent Staging Area (PSA) record, and not all of these records are invalid. This situation typically arises during the data loading process in SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when the system encounters duplicate records for a single PSA entry.
Cause:
Duplicate Records: The primary cause of this error is the presence of multiple records in the update queue for the same PSA record. This can happen due to:
- Data extraction issues where the same data is extracted multiple times.
- Incorrectly configured data sources or transformations that lead to duplicate entries.
- Issues in the data flow or process chains that result in the same data being processed multiple times.
Data Quality Issues: If the source system has data quality issues, it may lead to the same record being sent multiple times.
Process Chain Configuration: Misconfiguration in the process chain that loads data into the PSA can also lead to this error.
Solution:
To resolve the RSM2711 error, you can take the following steps:
Check for Duplicates:
- Review the data in the source system to identify if there are indeed duplicate records being sent to the PSA.
- Use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to analyze the data flow and identify where duplicates are being introduced.
Adjust Data Extraction:
- Modify the data extraction process to ensure that it does not send duplicate records to the PSA. This may involve changing the extraction logic or applying filters to the data.
Update the Process Chain:
- Review and adjust the process chain configuration to ensure that it handles data correctly and does not attempt to load the same data multiple times.
Data Cleansing:
- Implement data cleansing processes to remove duplicates from the source data before it is extracted.
Use the PSA Management:
- In the PSA management, you can manually delete the duplicate records if they are not needed. However, be cautious with this approach to avoid losing valid data.
Check for Invalid Records:
- Investigate the invalid records and determine if they can be corrected or if they need to be removed.
