  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSM2007 - Request not confirmed, check source system outbox ?

The SAP error message RSM2007 ("Request not confirmed, check source system outbox") typically occurs in the context of SAP's data transfer processes, particularly when dealing with the SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP ERP systems. This error indicates that a data request has not been confirmed in the source system, which can lead to issues in data loading or extraction processes.

    Causes:

    1. Data Transfer Issues: The request may not have been successfully transferred from the source system to the BW system.
    2. Outbox Problems: The source system's outbox may contain requests that are stuck or not processed correctly.
    3. Network Issues: Connectivity problems between the source system and the BW system can prevent successful data transfer.
    4. Authorization Issues: The user or process may lack the necessary permissions to confirm the request.
    5. System Configuration: Incorrect configuration settings in either the source or target system can lead to this error.
    6. Request Status: The request may be in a status that does not allow it to be confirmed (e.g., it may be in a "waiting" state).

    Solutions:

    1. Check Outbox: Go to the source system and check the outbox for any requests that are stuck or have not been processed. You can use transaction codes like RSA1 in BW or relevant transaction codes in the source system to monitor the status.
    2. Reprocess Requests: If you find requests in the outbox, try to reprocess them. This can often resolve the issue if the requests were simply delayed.
    3. Check Network Connectivity: Ensure that there are no network issues between the source and target systems. You can perform a ping test or check network logs.
    4. Review Authorizations: Verify that the user or process executing the data transfer has the necessary authorizations to confirm requests.
    5. Check for Errors: Look for any error messages in the source system that might indicate why the request was not confirmed. This can include checking logs or using transaction codes like SM21 for system logs.
    6. System Configuration: Review the configuration settings in both the source and target systems to ensure they are set up correctly for data transfer.
    7. Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this specific error or provide additional troubleshooting steps.
