  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RSDMD159 - & data records changed in table & ?

The SAP error message RSDMD159 typically indicates that there is an issue with the data records in a specific table related to the Data Warehouse (BW) or Business Intelligence (BI) environment. This error often arises when there are inconsistencies or changes in the data records that are not aligned with the expectations of the system.

    Cause:

    1. Data Changes: The error can occur if data records in the underlying database table have been changed or modified after they were initially loaded into the InfoProvider or DataStore Object (DSO).
    2. Inconsistent Data: If there are inconsistencies in the data model or if the data structure has changed (e.g., changes in fields, data types, etc.), it can lead to this error.
    3. Data Load Issues: Problems during data extraction, transformation, or loading (ETL) processes can also trigger this error.
    4. Data Source Changes: If the data source has been modified (e.g., changes in the source system), it may lead to discrepancies in the data records.

    Solution:

    1. Check Data Consistency: Verify the consistency of the data in the underlying tables. Ensure that the data structure matches the expectations of the InfoProvider or DSO.
    2. Reprocess Data: If the data has changed, you may need to reprocess the data load. This can involve reloading the data from the source system to ensure that the InfoProvider reflects the current state of the data.
    3. Data Source Validation: Check the data source configuration and ensure that it is correctly set up. If there have been changes to the data source, update the InfoPackage or data flow accordingly.
    4. Monitor Data Load: Use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to monitor data loads and identify any issues during the ETL process.
    5. Check for Updates: Ensure that your SAP system is up to date with the latest patches and updates, as some issues may be resolved in newer versions.
