  • What causes this issue?

You want to change the payroll area for one of several personnel
assignments. The system can execute the payroll only if all personnel
assignments of an employee that must be calculated together are assigned
    to the same payroll area.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

You cannot change the payroll area for a personnel assignment
retroactively. If you want to change the payroll area of a personnel
assignment for future payrolls, you must do so simultaneously for all
personnel assignments of an employee that have already been calculated
    in the same payroll area.
If you have also set the MPSD switch in your system, the change of
payroll area of an assignment is necessarily linked to a change of
    contract.
