    The <DS:DE.PVS_RECIPE_BE_MAINT>Depend.chg statuses</> indicator has
been set in Customizing for the recipe type of the current recipe. You
can therefore only create a new change status if all succeeding change
    statuses have status <LS>In process</> or <LS>Rejected</>.
There are, however, succeeding change statuses for this recipe whose
processing has already been closed. The system does not execute the
    function.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RMSRCP001 - Change status creation is not permitted; later change status is closed ?

The SAP error message RMSRCP001, which states "Change status creation is not permitted; later change status is closed," typically occurs in the context of SAP Retail or SAP S/4HANA when dealing with change requests or change statuses in the system. This error indicates that you are trying to create a change status for a document or object that has already been marked as "closed," meaning no further changes can be made.

    Cause:

    1. Closed Change Status: The primary cause of this error is that the change status you are trying to create or modify is already in a "closed" state. In SAP, once a change status is closed, it usually means that the document or object is finalized, and no further modifications are allowed.
    2. Incorrect Workflow: The workflow or process you are following may not allow for changes to be made at this stage.
    3. Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to make changes to a closed status.

    Solution:

    1. Check Change Status: Verify the current status of the document or object you are trying to change. If it is indeed closed, you will need to determine if it is appropriate to reopen it or if you need to create a new change request.
    2. Reopen Change Status: If your business process allows it, you may need to reopen the change status. This typically requires specific authorizations and may involve a specific transaction or process in SAP.
    3. Create a New Change Request: If reopening is not an option, consider creating a new change request or document that reflects the necessary changes instead of modifying the closed one.
    4. Consult Documentation: Review the relevant SAP documentation or guidelines for your specific module (e.g., SAP Retail) to understand the proper procedures for handling change statuses.
    5. Contact Support: If you are unsure how to proceed or if the issue persists, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide guidance based on your specific configuration and business processes.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional context on handling change statuses.
    • User Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to perform the actions you are attempting. This can often be a source of issues in SAP.
    • Business Process Documentation: Review your organization's business process documentation to ensure compliance with the established workflows regarding change requests and statuses.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the RMSRCP001 error effectively.
