  • What causes this issue?

You want to carry out a reporting point backflush for a posting date
that lies in the future. Due to a costing in the future, a new
reporting point structure already exists in historical file CHZP for
this posting date. This new reporting point structure is the result of
a routing change via history management.

    System Response

The system can only manage one current reporting point structure. When
backflushing on the specified posting date, the system would therefore
have to activate the future reporting point structure. Then all future
backflushes would be based on this future reporting point structure.
Therefore, it is not possible to carry out a backflush using this
    posting date.

    How to fix this error?

Check from which date the new reporting point structure exists in the
future or until which date in future costing has been carried out.
Carry out the posting for a date that lies before this data.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message RM334 - Posting would activate future RP structure, therefore not allowed ?

The SAP error message RM334, which states "Posting would activate future RP structure, therefore not allowed," typically occurs in the context of payroll processing. This error indicates that the system is trying to post payroll results that would activate a future retroactive accounting period (RP structure) that is not yet allowed or is not configured correctly.

    Cause:

    1. Future Posting Date: The posting date of the payroll run is set to a future date, which is not allowed because it would activate a future payroll structure.
    2. Retroactive Accounting: The payroll results being processed may involve retroactive accounting that extends into a future period where the payroll structure is not yet defined or activated.
    3. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the payroll schema or in the control records that prevent the posting of payroll results for future periods.

    Solution:

    1. Check Posting Date: Ensure that the posting date for the payroll run is set to a valid date that is not in the future. The posting date should typically be the last day of the payroll period being processed.
    2. Review Payroll Control Records: Check the payroll control records to ensure that the periods are correctly defined and that the future periods are not inadvertently activated.
    3. Adjust Retroactive Accounting Settings: If retroactive accounting is involved, review the settings to ensure that they are correctly configured to handle the periods in question.
    4. Consult with Payroll Administrator: If you are unsure about the configuration or the implications of changing settings, consult with your SAP payroll administrator or a consultant who specializes in SAP HR/Payroll.
    5. Transaction Codes: Use transaction codes like PA03 (Maintain Payroll Control Records) to check and adjust the payroll control records as necessary.
