  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You tried to delete a payment card. This payment card is still being
used somewhere in the system, meaning that you are not permitted to
    delete.

    System Response

Error message. The payment card is not deleted.

    How to fix this error?

Look at the where-used list for the payment card. If you still want to
delete it, change the reference to this payment card in the
applications affected. In most cases you can navigate directly to the
corresponding application from the where-used list (by calling the
context menu with the right mouse button). You can then try to delete
    the payment card again.
    &note&
If a business partner merely changes credit cards, and wants to
transfer all transactions from the old credit card to the new one,
change the credit card directly under the existing ID. In this case,
all references are transferred automatically to the new credit card.

The SAP error message R1593, which states "Payment Card &1 is Still being Used and Must Not be Deleted," typically occurs when you attempt to delete a payment card that is still associated with one or more transactions or records in the system. This is a safeguard to prevent the accidental deletion of data that is still in use.

    Cause:

    1. Active Transactions: The payment card is linked to active transactions, such as open invoices, sales orders, or customer accounts.
    2. Data Integrity: SAP enforces data integrity by preventing the deletion of records that are still referenced elsewhere in the system.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify Usage:

      • Check where the payment card is being used. You can do this by reviewing related transactions, customer accounts, or any other records that might reference the payment card.
      • Use transaction codes like SE16N or SE11 to query the relevant tables (e.g., KNC1, BKPF, BSEG, etc.) to find references to the payment card.
    2. Remove Associations:

      • If the payment card is linked to any active transactions, you will need to either complete, cancel, or delete those transactions before you can delete the payment card.
      • Ensure that there are no pending payments or transactions that require the payment card.
    3. Delete the Payment Card:

      • Once you have confirmed that the payment card is no longer in use, you can proceed to delete it from the system.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • If you are unsure about the implications of deleting the payment card, consult your organization's SAP documentation or reach out to your SAP support team for guidance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as FPL9 (for payment card management) and FBL5N (for customer line items) to help you navigate through the system.
    • User Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to delete payment cards and associated transactions.
    • Audit Trail: Be aware that deleting payment cards may affect reporting and auditing processes, so it’s advisable to document any changes made.

If you continue to encounter issues or if the payment card is not linked to any visible transactions, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or functional team for further investigation.
