R1407
- Existing validity intervals are incorrect ?The SAP error message R1407, "Existing validity intervals are incorrect," typically occurs in the context of managing master data, such as in the areas of material master, customer master, or vendor master. This error indicates that there are overlapping or incorrect validity periods for certain data records.
Cause:
- Overlapping Validity Periods: The validity intervals for certain records may overlap, which is not allowed in SAP. For example, if you have two records for the same object with overlapping start and end dates, this error will occur.
- Incorrect Date Entries: There may be incorrect or inconsistent date entries in the validity periods, such as a start date that is later than an end date.
- Data Inconsistencies: There could be inconsistencies in the data due to manual entries or data migration issues.
Solution:
- Check Validity Intervals: Review the validity periods of the records in question. Ensure that there are no overlaps and that the start and end dates are correctly set.
- Adjust Dates: If you find overlapping intervals, adjust the dates to ensure that each record has a unique validity period without overlaps.
- Data Consistency Check: Use transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to check the underlying database tables for the records causing the issue. Look for any inconsistencies in the data.
- Use Transaction Codes: Depending on the context (e.g., material master, customer master), use the appropriate transaction codes (like MM02 for material master, XD02 for customer master) to edit the records and correct the validity intervals.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help files for specific guidelines on managing validity periods for the type of master data you are working with.
