    You want to delete a validity period for the master inspection
    characteristic and have made a setting in Customizing that the master
    inspection characteristic should be distributed using ALE on saving.
    However, the validity period cannot be deleted in the target system in
    the following situations:
    The only validity period for this master inspection characteristic is
    the one that you want to delete. After deletion, there would be no
    validity period in the system.
    A version of the validity period that you want to delete is still used
    in the target system.

    System Response

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    When you delete the master inspection characteristic, you must ensure,
    if necessary, that the same status for your master inspection
    characteristics exists in the target systems.
