QS082
- You cannot use master inspection char. as "incomplete copy model" ?The SAP error message QS082 indicates that you are trying to use a master inspection characteristic (MIC) as an "incomplete copy model" in a Quality Management (QM) context, which is not allowed. This typically occurs when you are attempting to copy or create a new inspection plan or characteristic based on an existing one, but the system has identified that the selected MIC is not suitable for this operation.
Cause:
- Master Inspection Characteristic Type: The MIC you are trying to use may not be defined correctly or is not set up to be used as a copy model. This can happen if the MIC is marked as "incomplete" or if it has certain attributes that prevent it from being used in this way.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the Quality Management module that restrict the use of certain MICs for copying purposes.
- Data Integrity: The MIC might be missing required data or settings that are necessary for it to be used as a model.
Solution:
- Check MIC Configuration: Review the configuration of the master inspection characteristic in the system. Ensure that it is complete and correctly set up for use as a copy model. You can do this by navigating to the relevant transaction (e.g., QS21 for MIC maintenance) and checking the details of the MIC.
- Use a Different MIC: If the current MIC cannot be used, consider selecting a different MIC that is properly configured and marked as complete.
- Review Inspection Plan Settings: If you are working with an inspection plan, ensure that the plan and its characteristics are correctly defined and that there are no inconsistencies.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on using MICs and creating inspection plans.
- Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for further assistance.
