  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The new SAPDBA option '-statistics' executes, in one run, all
operations required to update the cost-based optimizer statistics.
Previously, this was executed in two steps.
    1. Needs Analysis: SAPDBA option '-checkopt' , DB13 action 'CheckOpt'
    2. Generate Statistics: SAPDBA option '-analyze' , DB13 action
    'AnalyzeTab'
In addition, the new option allows you to generate statistics in
parallel, which considerably reduces runtimes. For this reason, you can
no longer use the old actions in DB13 but instead must use the new
    action 'UpdateStats'.

    System Response

DB13 displays the old actions as 'Unknown'.

    How to fix this error?

Delete the 'Unknown' actions from the DBA Planning Calendar and
schedule instead the new action 'UpdateStats'. This action is normally
scheduled to run once a week, such as each Sunday.
Caution: The old actions scheduled in the past are displayed as
'Unknown' in the DBA Planning Calendar until you delete them from the
    Calendar.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
