Message class: PPEFLO - Messages for iPPE Application Object FLO
Message number: 401
Message text: Action points &1 (&2) and &3 (&4) are at the same position on the line
Action point &V1& at &V2& and action point &V3& at &V4& are at exactly
the same position in the line structure. Due to the hierarchic
structure of a line structure, you can define action points for
different factory layout objects, which actually correspond to the same
position in the physical line structure.
Example: A line structure consists of a line node, L_1, which is
further divided in the hierarchy into the line segment nodes LA_1 to
LA_5. The line segment nodes LA_1 to LA_5 are arranged in sequence one
after the other, LA_1 being the first line segment node, and LA_5 the
last.
You could specify an action point at the start of the line node L_1,
and also at the start of the line segment node LA_1. However, these two
positions correspond to same place on the production line. The start of
line node L_1 represents the start of the physical production line. The
start of the line segment node LA_1 also represents the start of the
physical production line.
Two different action points are not allowed that share the same
position within a line structure.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Delete any action points that are not unique, so that there is no more
than one action point at the same position in a line structure.

- Action points &1 (&2) and &3 (&4) are at the same position on the line ?The SAP error message PPEFLO401 indicates that there are action points that are overlapping or positioned at the same location on a line in a production planning or process flow context. This typically occurs in scenarios involving process flows, production orders, or similar planning activities where multiple action points are defined.
Cause:
The error is caused by the following:
- Overlapping Action Points: Two or more action points are defined at the same position on a line, which creates a conflict in the process flow.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration of the process flow or production order may have been set up incorrectly, leading to overlapping action points.
- Data Entry Errors: Manual entry errors during the creation or modification of action points can lead to this issue.
Solution:
To resolve the PPEFLO401 error, you can take the following steps:
Review Action Points: Check the action points defined for the specific line or process. Ensure that each action point has a unique position and does not overlap with others.
Adjust Positions: If you find overlapping action points, adjust their positions so that they are distinct and do not conflict with each other.
Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings for the process flow or production order to ensure that they are set up correctly. Make any necessary adjustments to avoid overlaps.
Data Validation: Validate the data entries for the action points to ensure that they are correctly defined and do not have any errors.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for guidance on how to properly define action points and avoid conflicts.
Testing: After making adjustments, test the process flow or production order to ensure that the error no longer occurs.
