- Order data not current: Action cannot be carried out ?The SAP error message PPC0059, which states "Order data not current: Action cannot be carried out," typically occurs in the context of production planning and control (PP) when there is an attempt to perform an action on a production order that is not in a valid state for that action. This can happen for several reasons, including:
Causes:
- Order Status: The production order may be in a status that does not allow the requested action (e.g., it might be closed, technically completed, or in a status that restricts further processing).
- Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the order data, such as missing or outdated information that prevents the system from processing the order.
- Locking Issues: The order might be locked by another user or process, preventing any changes or actions from being executed.
- Changes in Master Data: Changes in related master data (like material master, routing, or work center) that have not been updated in the order can lead to this error.
- User Authorizations: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the action on the order.
Solutions:
- Check Order Status: Verify the current status of the production order. If it is in a status that does not allow the action, you may need to change the status or take a different action.
- Refresh Data: If the order data is outdated, refresh the data by reloading the order or checking for any updates that need to be applied.
- Unlock the Order: If the order is locked, check with other users or system administrators to unlock it or resolve any locking issues.
- Review Master Data: Ensure that all relevant master data is up to date and consistent. If there have been changes, you may need to recheck the order or re-create it.
- Check Authorizations: Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to perform the action on the order. If not, contact your SAP security administrator to obtain the required authorizations.
