POC_MODEL053
- Inconsistent combination of activity/task and determiner activity/task ?The SAP error message POC_MODEL053, which states "Inconsistent combination of activity/task and determiner activity/task," typically occurs in the context of Project System (PS) or Project Management (PM) modules when there is a mismatch in the configuration of activities or tasks within a project.
Cause:
This error usually arises due to one of the following reasons:
Inconsistent Task Relationships: The relationships between tasks or activities in a project may not be properly defined. For example, a task may be set as dependent on another task that is not correctly configured as a predecessor or successor.
Incorrect Activity Types: The activity types assigned to tasks may not be compatible with the expected configuration. For instance, a task may be defined as a milestone when it should be a regular activity.
Missing Determiner Activities: If a task is expected to have a determiner activity (an activity that determines the start or end of another activity) but does not, this can lead to inconsistencies.
Data Entry Errors: Manual data entry errors when creating or modifying tasks and activities can lead to inconsistencies.
Solution:
To resolve the POC_MODEL053 error, you can take the following steps:
Check Task Relationships: Review the relationships between tasks in the project. Ensure that all predecessor and successor relationships are correctly defined and that there are no circular dependencies.
Verify Activity Types: Ensure that the activity types assigned to each task are appropriate for their role in the project. If necessary, change the activity type to one that is compatible.
Review Determiner Activities: Check if the tasks that require determiner activities have them properly assigned. If a task is supposed to be determined by another task, ensure that the relationship is established.
Data Validation: Go through the project data to identify any manual entry errors. Correct any inconsistencies found in the task definitions.
Use SAP Tools: Utilize SAP's built-in tools for project management to analyze the project structure. Tools like the Project Structure Overview can help identify inconsistencies.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on configuring tasks and activities in your version of SAP.
