Message text: Field &1 from infotype &2 has been recognized as a repeat field
The term "repeat fields" means a set of fields which are all of the
same type and contain similar information. The query can process such
fields automatically. The original set of fields is then represented by
a single field. This makes the system user-friendlier.
A set of fields is flagged as a repeat field by an entry in table
T770P. The system determined that such an entry exists for the &V1&
field from infotype &V2&. This entry did not exist when the InfoSet was
created, so the system now performs an internal conversion to the
simplified repeat field method.
If you do not want the system to perform this conversion, exit InfoSet
maintenance without saving the InfoSet, and delete the entry for the
&V1& field and infotype &V2& from table T770P.
Caution: automatic conversion is not possible if one or more of the
fields in the set are used in queries. If this is the case, you should
determine whether you really intend to use the fields this way. If
their use is intentional, delete the entry for the &V1& field from
table T770P. If their use is no longer required, delete the field (or
fields) from the queries concerned.
To display a list of all queries for the fields concerned, access
InfoSet maintenance and choose 'Environment -> Directories -> Queries
for field'.

PAIS036
- Field &1 from infotype &2 has been recognized as a repeat field ?The SAP error message PAIS036 indicates that a field in an infotype has been recognized as a repeat field, which means that the system has detected that the data being entered is a duplicate of existing data for that infotype. This typically occurs in the context of personnel administration when trying to maintain employee data.
Cause:
- Duplicate Entry: The most common cause of this error is that the data being entered for a specific field in the infotype already exists for the same employee. For example, if you are trying to enter a new address for an employee but the address already exists in the system, you will encounter this error.
- Configuration Issues: Sometimes, the configuration of the infotype may not be set up correctly, leading to the system incorrectly identifying valid entries as duplicates.
- Data Consistency: The system is designed to maintain data integrity and consistency, so it will flag any entries that it considers to be duplicates.
Solution:
- Check Existing Data: Review the existing entries for the infotype in question to confirm whether the data you are trying to enter is indeed a duplicate. You can do this by navigating to the infotype for the employee and checking the records.
- Modify Existing Entry: If the data is a duplicate, consider modifying the existing entry instead of creating a new one. This may involve updating the existing record with new information rather than adding a new record.
- Consult Configuration: If you believe the entry should not be flagged as a duplicate, consult with your SAP HR configuration team to review the settings for the infotype. They may need to adjust the configuration to allow for the entry.
- Use Different Validity Dates: If applicable, you may try entering the data with different validity dates to see if that resolves the issue.
- Error Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or support notes related to the specific infotype and error message for additional guidance.
