Before the system posts a material document for a Hydrocarbon Inventory
Management material, it performs the following consistency checks:
For each unit of measure in the Unit of Measure Group, a line item has
to be present in the appendix table (Table MSEGO2)
For each unit of measure in table MSEG that is not initial, a line item
has to be present in the appendix table (Table MSEGO2) and the
corresponding quantities have to be identical.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
This way, inconsistent stock level updates can be prevented.The system stops processing.
If the error is reproducible, contact your system administrator.
The inconsitency can have several reasons, for example:
Incorrect postings from external systems using function module
MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT
Handling errors
Application programming errors

Solution:
Check UOM Configuration:
- Go to the transaction code
CUNI
(Unit of Measure Conversion) to check if the UOM is defined in the system.- Ensure that the UOM is correctly set up in the UOM table.
Verify Material Master Data:
- Use transaction code
MM03
to display the material master data.- Check the "Basic Data" and "Sales Org. Data" views to ensure that the UOM is correctly assigned.
Add Missing UOM:
- If the UOM is missing, you can add it using transaction code
MM01
(Create Material) orMM02
(Change Material) to include the necessary UOM in the material master.Check Plant-Specific Settings:
- Ensure that the UOM is valid for the specific plant by checking the plant-specific data in the material master.
