What causes this issue?

The material &V1& is an
<DS:GLOS.3526BBC5AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>empties material</> and can
therefore be a component in an empties bill of material (BOM). However,
you wanted to assign a further empties BOM to the empties material.
This is not possible since it would result in multilevel BOMs which are
not supported in SAP Retail.

You want to assign an empties BOM to the full product <LS>JUICE</> in
the unit of measure <LS>crate</>. The empties BOM consists of the
following empties materials:
Material,,Number
BOTTLE,,6
CRATE,,1
It is not possible to assign an empties BOM consisting of the empties
materials <LS>EMPTYCRATE</> (1) and <LS>BOTTLE</> (6) to the empties
material <LS>CRATE</>, and then to assign an empties BOM consisting of
<LS>CRATE</> to the full product <LS>JUICE</>.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Assign the empties BOM to a
<DS:GLOS.352A7ADBD3895CD5E10000009B38F974>full product</>, ensuring
that the full product satisfies the following criteria:
The full product must be assigned to a material type that is not
flagged as an empties material.
You can check this in Customizing for the <LS>Material Master</> in the
activity <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLMSOMS2>Define Attributes of Material
Types</>. The relevant field is <LS>Material type ID</>.
The full product must have the material category
<DS:GLOS.3526BB92AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>single material</> or
<DS:GLOS.3526BC85AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>variant</> of a
<DS:GLOS.3526BC6EAFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>generic material</>.
