  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The material you have entered is a
    <DS:GLOS.352A7ADBD3895CD5E10000009B38F974>full product</>. It is not
possible to enter full products as the components of a set, display, or
    prepack (known collectively as
    <DS:GLOS.3526BBD7AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>structured materials</>)
because the components of a structured material may not have an empties
    bill of material (empties BOM).

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

If the material &V1& does not yet have an empties BOM, and you do not
want to assign one to it, check the indicator <DS:DE.W_MITLEERG>With
empties BOM</>. (In the standard R/3 System, this indicator appears on
the <LS>Basic Data</> screen in the material master.) If it is set, the
material counts as a full product.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The inclusion of materials with empties BOMs in the bill of material
for a structured material would result in multilevel BOMs which are not
    presently supported in SAP Retail.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MU068 - Full products such as &1 are not allowed as components ?

The SAP error message MU068 ("Full products such as &1 are not allowed as components") typically occurs in the context of production planning or inventory management when you are trying to use a full product (a finished good) as a component in a bill of materials (BOM) or production order. This is not allowed because full products are meant to be sold or delivered to customers, not used as components in the production of other products.

    Cause:

    1. Incorrect BOM Configuration: The BOM may have been incorrectly set up to include a finished product as a component.
    2. Material Type Restrictions: The material type of the product being used as a component may not allow it to be used in this way.
    3. Production Order Issues: You may be trying to create a production order that incorrectly references a finished product as a component.

    Solution:

    1. Review BOM Configuration: Check the BOM to ensure that only appropriate materials (raw materials or semi-finished goods) are included as components. Remove any finished products from the BOM.
    2. Material Type Check: Verify the material type of the product you are trying to use. Ensure that it is set up correctly in the system and is not classified as a finished product if it is intended to be a component.
    3. Adjust Production Orders: If you are working with production orders, ensure that the components listed are valid and do not include finished products.
    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's guidelines on BOM and production order management to ensure compliance with best practices.

    Related Information:

    • Material Master: Check the material master data for the product in question to understand its classification and properties.
    • BOM Management: Familiarize yourself with the BOM management process in SAP, including how to create and maintain BOMs.
    • SAP Notes: Look for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this error or provide additional guidance.
    • User Roles and Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to make changes to BOMs and production orders.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a functional consultant who specializes in production planning and inventory management.
