  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

It is not possible to assign an empties bill of material (empties BOM)
to the material &V1& because this material is already a component for a
set, display, or prepack (known collectively as
    <DS:GLOS.3526BBD7AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>structured materials</>).

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Create a new <DS:GLOS.352A7ADBD3895CD5E10000009B38F974>full product</>
and assign the required empties BOM to it.
If the material &V1& has been assigned to a structured material by
mistake, you can remove it from the structured material concerned if
the structured material is not yet used logistically. You can then
    create the empties BOM.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The assignment of empties BOMs to the components of a structured
material would result in multilevel BOMs which are not presently
    supported in SAP Retail.

The SAP error message MU070 indicates that the material you are trying to use is already part of a structured material (such as a bill of materials or a configurable material). This typically occurs when you attempt to add a material that is already included in another structured material as a component.

    Solution:

    1. Check Existing Structures: Review the existing structured materials (BOMs or configurable materials) to see where the material is already being used. You can do this by using transaction codes like CS03 (Display BOM) or CS12 (BOM Level Display).
    2. Use a Different Material: If the material is already a component of another structured material, consider using a different material that is not currently in use.
    3. Modify Existing Structures: If appropriate, you may modify the existing structured material to remove the component or change its usage, but be cautious as this may affect other processes.
    4. Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific guidelines on handling structured materials and components.
    5. Check for Configuration Settings: If you have the necessary permissions, check the configuration settings in the material management module to see if there are any restrictions or settings that need to be adjusted.
