  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MIMA034 - Deleted address uses ins. object &1 for alt. payment recipient &4 ?

The SAP error message MIMA034 indicates that there is an issue with a deleted address being used for an alternative payment recipient in a transaction. This typically occurs in the context of materials management or financial transactions where an address is required for payment processing.

    Cause:

The error arises when the system attempts to reference an address that has been marked as deleted. This can happen in various scenarios, such as:

    1. Deleted Vendor or Customer Address: The address associated with a vendor or customer has been deleted, but the system is still trying to use it for a transaction.
    2. Data Inconsistency: There may be inconsistencies in the master data where the address is no longer valid, but references to it still exist in transaction data.
    3. Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration in the payment processing settings or master data setup can lead to this error.

    Solution:

To resolve the MIMA034 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the Address: Verify if the address in question has indeed been deleted. You can do this by checking the vendor or customer master data in the relevant transaction (e.g., XK03 for vendors, XD03 for customers).

    2. Update the Payment Recipient: If the address is deleted, you will need to either:

      • Restore the address if possible.
      • Update the transaction to use a valid address. This may involve changing the alternative payment recipient to one that has a valid address.
    3. Review Master Data: Ensure that all relevant master data (vendors, customers, etc.) is up to date and that there are no inconsistencies. You may need to check for any other related records that might be referencing the deleted address.

    4. Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about how to proceed, refer to SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for guidance on handling address-related issues.

    5. Transaction Logs: Check transaction logs or change logs to see if there were any recent changes made to the address or related master data that could have led to this issue.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as XK03 (Display Vendor), XD03 (Display Customer), and others that may help you navigate the master data.
    • SAP Notes: Look for SAP Notes related to MIMA034 for any specific patches or updates that may address this issue.
