- Scheduling terminated, see log ?The SAP error message MD485 ("Scheduling terminated, see log") typically occurs during the planning or scheduling process in SAP, particularly in the context of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Production Planning (PP). This error indicates that the scheduling process could not be completed successfully, and further details can be found in the log.
Causes:
- Data Issues: Missing or incorrect master data (e.g., material master, BOM, routing) can lead to scheduling failures.
- Capacity Constraints: If there are insufficient resources (e.g., work centers, machines) to meet the production requirements, scheduling may be terminated.
- Configuration Errors: Incorrect settings in the planning parameters or MRP settings can cause scheduling issues.
- Stock Levels: Inadequate stock levels or incorrect stock status (e.g., blocked stock) can lead to scheduling problems.
- Dependencies and Constraints: If there are dependencies or constraints that cannot be resolved, the scheduling process may fail.
Solutions:
- Check the Log: The first step is to check the detailed log for the specific error messages. You can find the log in transaction code MD04 (Stock/Requirements List) or MD05 (MRP List).
- Review Master Data: Ensure that all relevant master data (material master, BOM, routing) is complete and accurate.
- Analyze Capacity: Check the capacity of work centers and ensure that they are sufficient to handle the planned production.
- Adjust Planning Parameters: Review and adjust MRP parameters and settings to ensure they are configured correctly.
- Stock Review: Verify stock levels and ensure that there are no issues with stock status that could affect scheduling.
