SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: MD - Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

  • Message number: 482

  • Message text: No capacity requirements determined, see customizing

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

No capacity requirements were calculated as, in Cusotmizing, the
parameters have been set so that no capacity requirements are to be
    calculated.
The indicator, "Create capacity requirements" was not set when defining
    the scheduling levels.
In Customizing, it was not defined that scheduling is to be carried out
using the routing for the scheduling horizon in which the planned order
lies. Capacity requirements are only calculated if a planned order is
scheduled using either the routing, the rate routing or a master
    recipe.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

If you want the system to calculate capacity requirements, maintain the
    parameters correspondingly in Customizing.
When defining the scheduling levels, the indicator, "create capacity
    requirements" was not set.
In Customizing, define the scheduling horizon appropriately in which
you want to schedule planned orders via the routing.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message MD482 - No capacity requirements determined, see customizing ?

The SAP error message MD482 ("No capacity requirements determined, see customizing") typically occurs in the context of production planning and capacity planning within the SAP system. This message indicates that the system was unable to determine capacity requirements for a particular production order or planning scenario. Here are the potential causes, solutions, and related information for this error:

    Causes:

    1. Missing Master Data: The relevant master data (like work centers, routing, or production versions) may not be properly maintained or may be missing.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: The configuration settings in the customizing (SPRO) may not be set up correctly for capacity planning.
    3. Routing Issues: The routing for the material may not be defined correctly, or it may not be assigned to the production version.
    4. Work Center Issues: The work center may not have the necessary capacity defined, or it may not be assigned to the relevant production process.
    5. Planning Parameters: The planning parameters for the material may not be set correctly, leading to the inability to determine capacity requirements.
    6. Production Version: The production version may not be active or may not be assigned to the material.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Master Data:

      • Ensure that the work centers, routings, and production versions are correctly defined and assigned to the material.
      • Verify that the routing is valid and contains the necessary operations.
    2. Review Customizing Settings:

      • Go to SPRO and check the settings under "Production Planning" and "Capacity Planning" to ensure that all necessary configurations are in place.
      • Ensure that the capacity planning settings are activated for the relevant planning area.
    3. Validate Work Center Configuration:

      • Check the work center configuration to ensure that it has the necessary capacity and is assigned to the correct production process.
    4. Check Production Version:

      • Ensure that the production version is active and correctly assigned to the material in the material master.
    5. Run MRP:

      • If applicable, run the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process again to see if the capacity requirements can be determined after correcting any issues.
    6. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific configuration steps related to capacity planning.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may need to use transaction codes such as C223 (for routing), CR01 (for work center), and MM02 (for material master) to check and maintain the relevant data.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to this error message.
    • User Exits and BAdIs: If custom logic is implemented, ensure that it does not interfere with the standard capacity determination process.
