This error typically occurs during inventory management processes, such as when trying to perform a goods movement, stock transfer, or when attempting to issue materials from inventory.
Cause:
- No Batches Created: The material in question may not have any batches created. This can happen if the material is not set up for batch management or if batches have not been created for the material.
- Batch Management Not Activated: The material may not be configured to use batch management in the material master.
- Incorrect Plant/Storage Location: The specified plant or storage location may not have any batches for the material, or the material may not exist in that location.

- Stock Levels: There may be no stock available in the specified storage location, even if batches exist in other locations.
Solution:
- Check Material Master: Verify the material master record to ensure that batch management is activated for the material. You can do this by checking the "Basic Data" and "Purchasing" views in the material master.
- Create Batches: If no batches exist, create batches for the material using transaction code MSC1N (Create Batch) or through the appropriate inventory management transactions.
- Check Plant and Storage Location: Ensure that you are referencing the correct plant and storage location. You can check this in the material master or by using transaction code MM03 (Display Material).
- Review Batch Status: Use transaction code MSC3N (Display Batch) to check the status of existing batches. Ensure that they are not blocked or restricted.
- Stock Overview: Use transaction code MMBE (Stock Overview) to check if there is any stock available for the material in the specified plant and storage location.
