  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KY190 - Report & is being processed by & ?

The SAP error message KY190 typically indicates that a report is currently being processed by another user or session. This can occur in various SAP modules, particularly in the context of controlling (CO) and reporting transactions.

    Cause:

The error message KY190 is triggered when:

    • A user attempts to execute a report that is already being processed by another user.
    • The system has a lock mechanism in place to prevent multiple users from running the same report simultaneously, which could lead to data inconsistencies or performance issues.

    Solution:

To resolve the KY190 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Wait and Retry: If the report is being processed by another user, you may need to wait until that user completes their processing. You can periodically check if the report is still running.

    2. Check Active Sessions: If you have access, you can check the system for active sessions or jobs that are currently running. This can be done using transaction codes like SM50 (for active processes) or SM66 (for global processes).

    3. Contact the User: If you know who is running the report, you can reach out to them to see if they can complete their processing or if they can release the lock.

    4. System Administrator Intervention: If the report seems to be stuck or if you cannot identify the user, you may need to contact your SAP system administrator. They can check for any locks in the system and may be able to release them if necessary.

    5. Review Report Configuration: In some cases, it may be beneficial to review the configuration of the report to see if it can be optimized for concurrent processing, if applicable.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SM12 (to view and manage locks) and SM21 (to check system logs) for troubleshooting.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to the specific report you are trying to run.
    • User Documentation: Review any user documentation or training materials related to the report to ensure you are following the correct procedures.

If the issue persists after trying these solutions, it may be necessary to escalate the matter to your SAP support team for further investigation.
