  • Message text: Activation of objects online / in the background

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A table is built for the activation of the data structure. This table
includes all of the objects which logically belong to the structure. It
is transferred to the mass activation program for further processing.
The request can be activated using the mass activator online or in the
    background.
If little or no data is contained in the structure, it can be activated
online. Larger volumes of data may provoke run-time errors (time out)
online due to the initialization of new fields required.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

First of all, start the activation online.
If this process is interrupted because of a time-out error, you should
start the activation online a second time and choose the variant:
    Activate in the background.
After you have successfully activated a data structure in the
background, you need to perform certain actions in the environment of
the structure (generate programs etc.). These functions can be found on
the transaction screen of the structure generation.
