  • What causes this issue?

Cycle &V1& was defined for the sender selection type "Split costs". If
costing-based CO-PA is active, you need to assign the overhead costs to
value fields in CO-PA. You can do this by specifying either fixed value
fields for fixed and variable costs or a PA transfer structure.
If you explicitly enter fixed value fields, and if account-based CO-PA
is also active, you must enter one value field for fixed costs AND one
value field for variable costs, otherwise only one type of costs will
    be transferred to account-based CO-PA.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Enter either a PA transfer structure or value fields for fixed and
    variable costs.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message KF421 - You have not specified a PA transfer structure or value fields (fxd/var.) ?

The SAP error message KF421, "You have not specified a PA transfer structure or value fields (fxd/var.)", typically occurs in the context of Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) when you are trying to execute a report or transaction that requires a Profitability Analysis (PA) transfer structure or value fields, but these have not been defined or specified correctly.

    Cause:

    1. Missing PA Transfer Structure: The system requires a PA transfer structure to be defined for the report or transaction you are trying to execute. If this structure is not specified, the error will occur.
    2. Value Fields Not Defined: The value fields that are necessary for the analysis may not be defined or may not be correctly assigned to the PA transfer structure.

    Solution:

    1. Define PA Transfer Structure:

      • Go to the transaction code KEI1 (Create PA Transfer Structure) or KEI2 (Change PA Transfer Structure).
      • Ensure that a valid PA transfer structure is created and assigned to the relevant operating concern.
      • Make sure that the structure includes the necessary characteristics and value fields.
    2. Check Value Fields:

      • Use transaction code KEI3 (Display PA Transfer Structure) to review the value fields associated with the transfer structure.
      • Ensure that the required value fields (fixed/variable) are defined and correctly assigned.
    3. Review Configuration:

      • Check the configuration settings in the CO-PA module to ensure that everything is set up correctly.
      • Verify that the operating concern is correctly configured and that all necessary characteristics and value fields are included.
    4. Test the Configuration:

      • After making the necessary changes, test the configuration by executing the report or transaction again to see if the error persists.
