  • What causes this issue?

    You want to assign a document to the task list at header level and save
    the assignment. The document with visualized spare parts has document
    type &V1&. Although an object link to SAP object <LB>PMPLKO</> (<ZK>
    Maint. Task List</>) has been defined for this object type, a
    corresponding object link to SAP object <LB>PMAUFK</> (<ZK>Maintenance
    Order</>) has not been defined. Since task lists with documents can be

    must be made for the maintenance order as well.

    How to fix this error?

    Check your settings for document type &V1& in Customizing for <ZK>
    Cross-Application Components</> under <ZK>Document Management</> -> <ZK>
    Control Data</> -> <DS:SIMG.SIMG_VC_DVS10>Define Document Types</> ->
    <ZK>Define object links</>.
    If you want to allow documents with document type &V1& to be assigned to
    the maintenance order at header level, define the object link for

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message IW730 - There is no object link to the order header for document type & ?

    The SAP error message IW730, which states "There is no object link to the order header for document type &," typically occurs in the context of work order management or maintenance processing. This error indicates that the system cannot find a valid link between the document (such as a maintenance order or notification) and the order header for the specified document type.

    Causes:

    1. Missing Object Link: The most common cause is that the document (e.g., a maintenance notification or order) does not have a proper link to the order header. This can happen if the order was not created correctly or if the document type is not configured properly in the system.

    2. Incorrect Document Type: The document type specified in the error message may not be set up to allow linking to the order header. This can occur if the document type is not configured in the system or if it is not intended to be linked to the order.

    3. Data Inconsistencies: There may be inconsistencies in the data, such as missing entries in the database tables that manage the relationships between documents and orders.

    4. Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view or access the order header linked to the document.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Object Links: Verify that the document you are trying to process has a valid link to the order header. You can do this by checking the order in transaction IW32 (Change Order) or IW33 (Display Order) to see if the document is correctly associated.

    2. Review Document Type Configuration: Ensure that the document type in question is configured correctly in the system. You can check this in the configuration settings (transaction SPRO) under the relevant area for order management.

    3. Create or Update Links: If the link is missing, you may need to create or update the link manually. This can involve creating a new order or updating the existing one to ensure that it is properly linked to the document.

    4. Check for Data Consistency: Run consistency checks or reports to identify any data inconsistencies that may be causing the issue. You can use transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to check the relevant database tables.

    5. Authorization Check: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the order header. You may need to work with your SAP security team to verify and adjust user roles and permissions.

    6. Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error message. There may be patches or updates that resolve known issues related to this error.
