What causes this issue?

You are serializing a material for which non-serialized inventory
already exists. This can cause problems. If, for example, the stock
check is activated in the serial number profile, non-serialized stocks
cannot be used because the correctness of the serial number is checked
for each goods movement. The stock data of the serial numbers must
correspond to the requirements of material inventory management.
Because there are no corresponding serial numbers for the
non-serialized inventory, it is no longer possible to perform a posting
here. This results in inventory inconsistencies.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

If you have activated the stock check with error message in your serial
number profile, you should not maintain this in materials for which
non-serialized inventory exists. Otherwise, you are no longer able to
move this stock.
