    For other reasons, the indicated employee is working out-of-field.

    System Response

    Several reasons exist that can cause an employee to work out-of-field.
    The system detects these reasons whenever the <DS:RE.RPUTCPU2_PBS>
    Out-of-Field Report</> is run. Many of the reasons detected by this
    report are derived from personnel information stored in the system,
    including:
    entries in the <ZK>Certification and Licensing</> infotype (0795),
    entries in the <ZK>Duty Assignments</> infotype (0796),
    settings performed in Customizing for <ZK>Payroll USA</> (PY-US) within
    the chapter <ZK>Supplements Public Sector US</> -> <ZK>Certification and
    Licensing</>.
    The following examples illustrate reasons that are derived from
    personnel information stored in the system, and for which the system can
    detect an employee to be working out-of-field.
    The employee lacks the appropriate certificate or license.
    The employee has a certificate or license, but it is inappropriate for
    their duty assignment.
    The employee has the appropriate certificate(s) or license(s) for their
    duty assignment, but it has (or they have) expired.
    In addition to reasons that are derived from personnel information,
    other reasons exist that can cause an employee to work out-of-field, but
    that are not derived from information stored in the system, as
    illustrated in the following example.
    Suppose you work in an educational institution, and suppose a teacher in
    your institution is certified to instruct pupils in mathematics from
    January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2008.

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Suppose, however, that the teacher is not certified to instruct pupils
    who do not speak English as a native language, and suppose that the
    teacher nonetheless instructs such pupils during the fall 2004 term -
    from August 23, 2004 through December 17, 2004. In this situation, the
    system would detect the teacher to be working out-of-field during this
    time period.
    Such information, however, would not be derived from the system, but
    rather from a legacy system containing student data. In this example,
    the Out-of-Field Report could nonetheless derive this information by
    means of Business Add-In (BAdI) HRPBSUSTC01, which is configured in
    Customizing for <ZK>Payroll USA</> (PY-US) by choosing <ZK>Supplements
    Public Sector US</> -> <ZK>Certification and Licensing</> ->
    <ZK>Business Add-Ins (BAdIs)</> -> <ZK>BAdI: Determine Additional
    Required Areas in Information or Legacy Systems</>.
    In order to cease working out-of-field, the teacher would require
    certification to provide instruction to pupils who speak English as a
    second language.
