    According to section 22, paragraph 1 of BeamtVG, the portion of 55% or
    60% must be reduced if the originator has reached the age of 80 years at
    the end of the marriage. The reduction amounts to 5% for each year or
    portion thereof after the end of the marriage and after the age of 80
    years. If the marriage lasts 5 years, the reduction for each year or
    portion thereof after these 5 years is decreased by 5%. The reduction is
    then capped at 50%. The maintenance payment cannot be set at less than
    50% of the statutory widow?s pension.
