The SAP error message HRPAYDESV466, which states "No dummy number exists for pension scheme &1," typically occurs in the context of payroll processing within the SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) module, specifically related to pension schemes.

    Cause:

This error usually arises when the system is trying to process payroll for an employee who is associated with a specific pension scheme (denoted by &1) but cannot find a corresponding "dummy number" in the system. A dummy number is often used as a placeholder or reference for pension calculations, and its absence can prevent the payroll process from completing successfully.

    Possible Causes Include:

    1. Missing Configuration: The pension scheme may not be properly configured in the system, leading to the absence of a dummy number.
    2. Incorrect Employee Data: The employee's data may not be correctly linked to the pension scheme, or the employee may not be assigned to the correct payroll area.
    3. Data Migration Issues: If data was migrated from another system, there may have been issues that resulted in missing entries for dummy numbers.
    4. Customizations: Custom developments or modifications in the payroll process may have inadvertently affected the handling of pension schemes.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Configuration:

      • Go to the configuration settings for the pension scheme in the SAP system (transaction code SPRO).
      • Ensure that the pension scheme is correctly set up and that a dummy number is defined for it.
    2. Verify Employee Data:

      • Check the employee's master data (transaction code PA30) to ensure that they are correctly assigned to the pension scheme.
      • Make sure that the employee's payroll area and other relevant data are correctly maintained.
    3. Review Payroll Control Record:

      • Ensure that the payroll control record is set up correctly for the relevant payroll period and that it allows for processing of the pension scheme.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific pension scheme and the error message for any additional guidance.
    5. Contact SAP Support:
