  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A process has already been started for the data exchange type &v1& in
distributed reporting, using the master program RPUD3MD0; this process
    has not yet been completed.
While the process is still running, no other processes can be started in
distributed reporting for the data exchange type &v1&.

    System Response

Report RPUD3MD0 is terminated if it is started for a data exchange type
for which a process is already running in distributed reporting.

    How to fix this error?

Wait until the current process is completed for data exchange type &v1&
    and then restart report RPUD3MD0.

    Procedure for System Administrators

It is possible that the lock was not reset due to a program termination
in distributed reporting. In this case, there is a timeout before the
    lock is removed.
If you are certain that, as a result of a program termination,
distributed reporting no longer runs for data exchange type &v1&, you
can delete the lock before the timeout has completed. To do so, call
transaction SM12 (lock management), select the lock entry for table
T599U with lock argument T599U <client>RPUD3MD0* and delete this
entry. Distributed reporting for data exchange type &v1& is thereby by
    released again.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message HRPAYDESV131 - Distributed reporting for data exchange type &1 is already running ?

The SAP error message HRPAYDESV131 indicates that a distributed reporting process for a specific data exchange type is already in progress. This typically occurs in the context of SAP HR (Human Resources) and payroll processes, where data needs to be exchanged between different systems or modules.

    Cause:

    1. Concurrent Execution: The most common cause of this error is that the same data exchange process is being executed multiple times concurrently. This can happen if a user or a scheduled job attempts to start the process while it is already running.
    2. Long-Running Processes: If the previous execution of the data exchange process is taking longer than expected, it may lead to this error when a new attempt is made to start the same process.
    3. System Configuration: There may be configuration settings that allow for only one instance of a particular data exchange type to run at a time.

    Solution:

    1. Check Running Processes: Use transaction codes like SM37 (Job Monitoring) to check if the data exchange job is currently running. If it is, you may need to wait for it to complete.
    2. Terminate Long-Running Jobs: If you find that the job is stuck or taking too long, you may need to terminate it. Be cautious with this approach, as terminating jobs can lead to data inconsistencies.
    3. Review Job Scheduling: If this is a recurring issue, review the scheduling of jobs to ensure that they do not overlap. Adjust the timing of jobs to prevent concurrent executions.
    4. Increase Timeout Settings: If the process is frequently taking too long, consider reviewing and possibly increasing timeout settings or optimizing the process to improve performance.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific data exchange type for any known issues or recommendations.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as SM37 (Job Monitoring), SM21 (System Log), and ST22 (Dump Analysis) for troubleshooting.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any updates or patches related to the specific error message or data exchange type.
    • System Performance: Monitor system performance to ensure that it is not a broader issue affecting job execution times.
    • User Training: Ensure that users are trained on the proper procedures for initiating data exchange processes to avoid accidental overlaps.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis or HR support team for further investigation.
