multiple personnel assignments before the CE start date.

before the CE start date, retroactive accounting is generally not
possible and the old results cannot be accessed in the payroll run.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

In the master data for the assignments without payroll results, replace
the existing payroll area with a non-payroll-relevant payroll area (such
as '99'). This solves the problem if the person has no more than one
assignment with payroll results. You can then perform retroactive
accounting for at least this assignment.
If this is not successful, remove all other assignments for the person,
with the exception of one assignment.
This may not be possible in the following cases:
Following a data migration from external systems
Previous use of Swiss concurrent employment
Inconsistent historical data, that is, if your CE start date is a long
time ago
