Message number: 501
Message text: ME &1: Inconsistent absence between &2 and &3
The &V1& absence is not consistent on this contract from &V2& until
&V3&.
It is legislation that the absences of an employee are consistent
across all contracts for the employee to receive Statutory Absence
Payments.
This is the ME Solutions interpretation of the rule that an employee
must not perform any work on a day to be eligible to receive Statutory
Absence Payment. The fact that they may not be working on a contract
that does not have an absence is not sufficient. Not only are the
Inland Revenue guidelines clear that absences that start or finish on
non-working days must be recorded from that point in time and not from
the first working day. But also, it is not possible to generate absence
data from "thin air". For a contract, to be processed as eligible to
receive Statutory Absence Payments it must be absent.
A warning message is generated during the processing of the payroll for
this employee for each inconsistent absence split found during the
current payroll period.
Inconsistent absences are not eligible for Statutory Absence Payments
and so will not be processed by GBSXP.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
The report 'ME Solution Check 2' (RPLMESG2) can be used to check the
consistency of the absences for an employee's various contracts.
All records of Absence infotype (2001) for sickness, maternity,
paternity and adoption need to be consistent across the contracts of
the employee to stop this warning message from occuring.
