Message text: No resetting for 1:N copy
You want to copy plan data from one object to another object or to
several objects (1:N copies) and have chosen the "Reset and overwrite"
option.
Plan data of the target objects that already exists is overwritten,
provided that it has been planned in the reference object. Records only
planned in the target objects are not reset during the 1:N copy.
The result of this is that there may be more plan records in the target
objects than in the reference object after a 1:N copy.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- No resetting for 1:N copy ?The SAP error message GP656 "No resetting for 1:N copy" typically occurs in the context of the SAP HR (Human Resources) module, particularly when dealing with infotypes and their relationships. This error indicates that there is an issue with the copying of data from one infotype to another, especially in scenarios where a one-to-many relationship is expected.
Cause:
- Data Inconsistency: The error may arise due to inconsistencies in the data being copied, such as missing or incorrect entries in the source infotype.
- Infotype Configuration: The configuration of the infotypes may not support the intended copy operation. For example, if the target infotype does not allow for multiple entries or if the relationship between the infotypes is not properly defined.
- Authorization Issues: There may be authorization restrictions preventing the operation from being completed.
- Custom Enhancements: If there are custom enhancements or modifications in the system, they might interfere with the standard behavior of the infotype copying process.
Solution:
- Check Data Consistency: Review the data in the source infotype to ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly and that there are no inconsistencies.
- Review Infotype Configuration: Verify the configuration of the infotypes involved. Ensure that the target infotype is set up to accept multiple entries if that is the intended behavior.
- Authorization Check: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to perform the copy operation. Check the user roles and permissions related to HR data management.
- Debugging: If the issue persists, consider debugging the process to identify where the error is occurring. This may involve looking at the ABAP code or the function modules involved in the copy operation.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to the specific infotypes and their relationships for any known issues or additional configuration steps that may be required.
- SAP Support: If the problem cannot be resolved internally, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance, providing them with detailed information about the error and the context in which it occurs.
