- Totals table of Consolidation cannot be used as sender table ?The SAP error message G3678, which states "Totals table of Consolidation cannot be used as sender table," typically occurs in the context of SAP Financial Consolidation or SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) when there is an issue with the configuration or usage of the totals table in the consolidation process.
Cause:
Incorrect Table Usage: The error usually arises when a totals table is being incorrectly referenced as a sender table in a consolidation process. In SAP, sender tables are typically detail tables that contain transactional data, while totals tables summarize this data.
Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the consolidation settings or in the data flow definitions that incorrectly designates a totals table as a sender.
Data Model Issues: The data model may not be set up correctly, leading to the system trying to use a totals table where it expects a detail table.
Solution:
Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings in the consolidation application. Ensure that the sender and receiver tables are correctly defined. The sender table should be a detail table, not a totals table.
Adjust Data Flow: If you are using a data flow or data mapping, ensure that the mappings are correctly set up to use the appropriate tables. You may need to adjust the data flow to ensure that it uses the correct sender table.
Review Data Model: Check the data model to ensure that it is correctly defined. Make sure that the totals tables are not being used in places where detail tables are required.
Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation for your specific version of the software to understand the expected configurations and data flows.
Testing: After making changes, test the consolidation process to ensure that the error is resolved and that the data is being processed correctly.
