The SAP error message FICO1043, which states "Condition group used to &1 - valid to date cannot be changed," typically occurs in the context of pricing conditions in the SAP system, particularly within the Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This error indicates that there is an attempt to change the "valid to" date of a condition record that is currently being used in a transaction or is still valid in the system.

    Cause:

    1. Active Condition Records: The condition record you are trying to modify is currently active and being used in transactions. SAP does not allow changes to the validity dates of condition records that are still in use.
    2. Locked Records: The condition record may be locked due to ongoing transactions or processes that reference it.
    3. Data Consistency: SAP enforces data consistency rules to prevent issues that could arise from changing key data that is already in use.

    Solution:

    1. Check Usage: Before attempting to change the "valid to" date, check if the condition record is currently being used in any active transactions. You can do this by reviewing the relevant documents or transactions that reference the condition.
    2. Deactivate the Condition Record: If the condition record is not needed anymore, consider deactivating it or creating a new condition record with the desired validity dates instead of modifying the existing one.
    3. Change Validity Dates: If you need to change the validity dates, ensure that the condition record is not in use. You may need to wait until all transactions referencing it are completed or closed.
    4. Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for specific steps on how to handle condition records in your version of SAP.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may use transaction codes like VK11 (Create Condition), VK12 (Change Condition), and VK13 (Display Condition) to manage condition records.
