  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message FAA_MD094 - You are not allowed to enter a deactn. date in ldr &1 when creating asset ?

The SAP error message FAA_MD094 indicates that you are trying to enter a deactivation date for an asset in the Asset Accounting (FI-AA) module, but the system is preventing you from doing so. This typically occurs when you are attempting to create an asset with a deactivation date that is not allowed based on the configuration or the current status of the asset.

    Cause:

    1. Deactivation Date Restrictions: The system may have restrictions on entering a deactivation date for certain asset types or under specific conditions. For example, if the asset is being created in a period that does not allow for deactivation or if the asset is not in a status that permits deactivation.
    2. Configuration Settings: The configuration settings in the Asset Accounting module may not allow for deactivation dates to be entered during asset creation.
    3. Asset Class Settings: The asset class may have specific settings that restrict the entry of a deactivation date.

    Solution:

    1. Check Asset Class Configuration: Review the configuration of the asset class you are using to ensure that it allows for the entry of a deactivation date. You can do this by navigating to the Asset Accounting configuration settings in the SAP system.
    2. Review Deactivation Date: Ensure that the deactivation date you are trying to enter is valid and makes sense in the context of the asset's lifecycle. If the asset is being created, it may not be appropriate to set a deactivation date at that time.
    3. Consult with SAP Support: If you are unsure about the configuration or the reason for the restriction, it may be helpful to consult with your SAP support team or refer to SAP documentation for further guidance.
    4. Create Asset Without Deactivation Date: If the deactivation date is not essential at the time of asset creation, consider creating the asset without it and then updating the asset later if necessary.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may be using transaction codes such as AS01 (Create Asset) or AS02 (Change Asset) when encountering this error.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error message or provide additional insights into the configuration settings.
    • User Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to create assets and enter deactivation dates, as restrictions may also be related to user roles.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the FAA_MD094 error and successfully create the asset in the SAP system.
