  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Meter reading documents already exist for device &V1& for the later
meter reading date &V3&. These include additional, time-variable
interimmeter reading documents, which lie before the current action date
&V2&. It is not clear whether these additional documents, with their
time-variable reference date, are to be allocated to the previous meter
reading document from &V3& or to the new meter reading document from
    &V2&.

    System Response

The transaction is rejected because the ambiguity of the time-variable
reference date cannot be resolved and would probably lead to
    inconsistent data and subsequent errors.

    How to fix this error?

You must delete the time-variable meter reading documents separately for
device &V1& before &V2& (using <DS:TRAN.EL37>EL37</>) and then restart
    the current transaction.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message EL525 - Device &1 already has later time-variable MR docs. Process rejected ?

The SAP error message EL525 indicates that there is a conflict with the time-variable material documents (MR docs) for a specific device. This typically occurs in the context of inventory management or production planning when there are attempts to process or post documents that have a timestamp that conflicts with existing documents.

    Cause:

The error arises when you try to post a new material document for a device that already has later time-variable documents. This means that the system has detected that there are already existing documents that have a later timestamp than the one you are trying to process. This is a safeguard to prevent inconsistencies in inventory or production data.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Existing Documents: Review the existing material documents for the device in question. You can use transaction codes like MB03 (Display Material Document) or MB51 (Material Document List) to find the relevant documents.

    2. Identify the Conflict: Determine which document is causing the conflict. Look for documents that have a later timestamp than the one you are trying to post.

    3. Adjust the Posting: If possible, adjust the posting you are trying to make to ensure that it has a timestamp that is earlier than the existing documents. This may involve changing the date or time of the document you are trying to post.

    4. Delete or Reverse Documents: If the existing documents are not needed, you may consider reversing or deleting them. Be cautious with this approach, as it may have implications for inventory and accounting.

    5. Consult with Your Team: If you are unsure about which documents to delete or how to proceed, consult with your inventory management or finance team to ensure that you are making the right decision.

    6. Check Configuration: In some cases, the issue may be related to configuration settings in SAP. Ensure that the settings for document posting and time variables are correctly configured.
