Message text: Enter a text container
Since the vendor declaration forms can include materials from different
plants, the system cannot clearly assign the plant-dependent text
container that will be used. Therefore, you need to specify the text
containers. The "Maximum dunning level" parameter defines how many text
containers must be entered.
&PROCEDURE&
To create a text container,
Choose <ZK>Tools --> Form print --> SAPscript --> Standard text </>from
the SAP standard menu.
Enter a name for your text container and the language code.
Enter <ZH>ST</> in the Text-ID field.
After you have entered a text, save the text container.
Now you can enter the text container name on the selection criteria
screen for the vendor declaration.
You need to ensure that the text container is created in any additional
languages that will be used.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

EI444
- Enter a text container ?The SAP error message EI444, which states "Enter a text container," typically occurs when a user is trying to create or modify a document or record that requires a text entry, but the system does not have a designated text container to hold that information. This can happen in various SAP modules, such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), or others where text entries are necessary.
Cause:
- Missing Text Container: The text container, which is a predefined area for entering text, is not available or has not been defined for the specific document type or transaction.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration settings in the SAP system may not have been set up correctly to allow for text entries.
- User Role/Authorization: The user may not have the necessary permissions to access or create text containers.
Solution:
Check Text Container Configuration:
- Go to the relevant configuration settings in the SAP system (usually in SPRO) and ensure that the text container is defined for the document type you are working with.
- Ensure that the text types are correctly assigned to the relevant document types.
Create a Text Container:
- If a text container does not exist, you may need to create one. This can typically be done in the customizing settings of the relevant module.
- Navigate to the appropriate area in SPRO (e.g., for MM, it might be under Materials Management > Purchasing > Texts).
Check User Authorizations:
- Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to create or modify text entries. This can be checked in the user roles assigned to the user.
Use the Correct Transaction:
- Make sure you are using the correct transaction code that supports text entries. Some transactions may not allow text input if they are not designed to do so.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation or help files for specific guidance on the module you are working with, as the steps may vary based on the context.
