Message text: MPN &1/manuf. &2 assigned to more than one material; only mat. &3 added
You selected a spare part and want to copy it to the list. However, the
manufacturer part number (MPN) &V1& / manufacturer &V2& of this spare
part is assigned to more than one material master record. Since the
system can only add one material per spare part to the list, it only
copies material &V3& with the quantity and UoM of the spare part.
The system does not add any of the other material numbers for this MPN
&V1& / manufacturer &V2& to the list.
When you copy the spare parts to the list of materials in the
maintenance order, check the material number and change it manually if
necessary. In addition<(>,<)> check the various assignments of MPN &V1&
/ manufacturer &V2& to the material master records for the selected
spare part.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

EAMVE033
- MPN &1/manuf. &2 assigned to more than one material; only mat. &3 added ?The SAP error message EAMVE033 indicates that a Material Master record is associated with a Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) that is linked to more than one material. This situation arises when you attempt to assign a specific MPN to a material, but the MPN is already assigned to multiple materials in the system. As a result, SAP restricts the assignment to ensure data integrity and avoid confusion.
Cause:
- Multiple Assignments: The MPN you are trying to assign is already linked to more than one material in the system.
- Data Entry Error: There may have been an error during data entry or data migration that resulted in the same MPN being assigned to multiple materials.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration settings in the Material Management module may not be set up correctly, leading to this error.
Solution:
Check Existing Assignments:
- Use transaction codes like
MM03
(Display Material) orMM02
(Change Material) to check which materials are currently assigned to the MPN in question.- You can also use transaction
MMR1
(Maintain Manufacturer Part Numbers) to view the MPN assignments.Correct the Assignments:
- If the MPN is incorrectly assigned to multiple materials, you may need to remove the MPN from the incorrect materials using
MM02
and reassign it to the correct material.- Ensure that each MPN is uniquely assigned to a single material unless your business process allows for multiple assignments.
Create a New MPN:
- If the MPN needs to be used for multiple materials, consider creating a new MPN for the specific material you are trying to assign it to.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP support team for any specific configurations or settings that may need to be adjusted.
Data Cleanup:
- If this issue arises from data migration or bulk uploads, consider performing a data cleanup to ensure that MPNs are uniquely assigned.
