DPR_PROJECT070
- Subtasks for summary tasks are not permitted with top-down scheduling ?The SAP error message DPR_PROJECT070 indicates that there is an issue with the scheduling of subtasks within a summary task when using top-down scheduling in the SAP Project Management module. This error typically arises when you attempt to create or modify a project structure that violates the rules of top-down scheduling.
Cause:
- Top-Down Scheduling: In top-down scheduling, the start and finish dates of summary tasks are determined first, and then the subtasks are scheduled within those constraints. If you have subtasks defined under a summary task, the system does not allow for the scheduling of these subtasks in a way that conflicts with the overall timeline of the summary task.
- Project Structure: The project structure may not be set up correctly, or there may be an attempt to assign dates or durations to subtasks that do not align with the summary task's schedule.
- Configuration Settings: The project settings may not be configured to allow for the use of subtasks under summary tasks when top-down scheduling is enabled.
Solution:
- Review Project Structure: Check the hierarchy of your project. Ensure that the summary tasks and subtasks are correctly defined and that the subtasks do not have conflicting dates or durations.
- Adjust Scheduling Method: If you need to use subtasks under summary tasks, consider switching to bottom-up scheduling, which allows for more flexibility in scheduling subtasks independently of the summary task.
- Modify Dates/Durations: Ensure that the dates and durations of the subtasks fall within the start and finish dates of the summary task. Adjust them as necessary to comply with the top-down scheduling rules.
- Check Configuration: Review the project management configuration settings in SAP to ensure that they are set up correctly for your scheduling needs. You may need to consult with your SAP administrator or project management team for assistance.
