DHCDC_CORE221
- Logging tables deleted for table &1; logging table had too many records ?The SAP error message DHCDC_CORE221 indicates that the logging tables for a specific table (denoted as
&1
) have been deleted because they contained too many records. This situation typically arises in the context of Change Document Management (CDM) or Change Log Management, where SAP keeps track of changes made to certain tables for auditing or tracking purposes.Cause:
- Excessive Data Volume: The logging table has exceeded the predefined limit for the number of records it can hold. This can happen if there are frequent changes to the data in the associated table, leading to a rapid accumulation of log entries.
- Configuration Settings: The system may have specific settings that dictate how many records can be retained in the logging table. If these settings are not appropriately configured, it can lead to premature deletion of log entries.
- Lack of Archiving: If there is no regular archiving process in place to manage the size of the logging tables, they can grow uncontrollably.
Solution:
- Review and Adjust Configuration: Check the configuration settings for the logging tables. You may need to adjust the parameters that control the maximum number of records allowed in the logging table.
- Implement Archiving: Set up an archiving strategy for the logging tables to regularly move old log entries to an archive, thus preventing the logging tables from growing too large.
- Monitor Changes: Implement monitoring to track the frequency of changes to the relevant table. This can help identify if there are specific processes or transactions that are causing excessive logging.
- Database Maintenance: Regularly perform database maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and manage the size of logging tables effectively.
- Consult SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or patches related to this error message.
