  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The system could not find any remaining available capacity within the
    planning period.

    How to fix this error?

    You have the following options:
Increase the size of the planning period
    Increase the available capacity &V3&
Reschedule a capacity commitment which already exists for capacity &V3&
Check whether the formulas in the work center for calculating duration
or capacity requirements produce different results.
For example, if the capacity requirements calculated are twice as large
as the duration calculated then two capacities are required to execute
the operation. In this case you should increase the available capacity
    or change the formulas.
A reduction of the available capacity can also arise if particular time
intervals for dispatching were locked (fixed).

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CY744 - Order & operation &: No remaining av. cap. available in planning period ?

The SAP error message CY744 ("Order & operation &: No remaining av. cap. available in planning period") typically occurs in the context of capacity planning within SAP's Production Planning (PP) module. This error indicates that there is no available capacity for the specified order and operation during the planning period you are trying to schedule.

    Causes:

    1. Capacity Overload: The work center associated with the operation has reached its maximum capacity for the specified time period.
    2. Incorrect Planning Parameters: The planning parameters (like available capacity, working times, or shifts) for the work center may not be set correctly.
    3. Resource Allocation: Other orders or operations may be consuming the available capacity, leading to a shortage for the current order.
    4. Calendar Issues: The factory calendar may not be set up correctly, leading to incorrect availability of capacity.
    5. Capacity Planning Settings: The settings for capacity planning (like planning strategy, lot size, etc.) may not align with the current order requirements.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Work Center Capacity:

      • Go to the work center in question and review the available capacity settings. Ensure that the capacity is sufficient for the planned operations.
      • Adjust the capacity if necessary, such as increasing the number of shifts or working hours.
    2. Review Order Scheduling:

      • Check if the order can be rescheduled to a different time period when capacity is available.
      • Use the "Capacity Evaluation" transaction (CM01) to analyze the load on the work center.
    3. Adjust Production Orders:

      • If there are other production orders consuming capacity, consider rescheduling or prioritizing them to free up capacity for the current order.
    4. Modify Planning Parameters:

      • Review and adjust the planning parameters for the work center, including the available capacity, working times, and any other relevant settings.
    5. Check Factory Calendar:

      • Ensure that the factory calendar is correctly set up and that there are no unexpected holidays or non-working days affecting capacity.
    6. Use Capacity Planning Tools:

      • Utilize SAP's capacity planning tools to simulate different scenarios and find a feasible solution for scheduling the order.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You may find it useful to use transaction codes like CM01 (Capacity Planning), CM21 (Capacity Leveling), and COHV (Mass Processing of Production Orders) to analyze and manage capacity issues.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed information on capacity planning and work center configuration.
    • User Exits and BAdIs: If you have custom logic in your SAP system, check for any user exits or BAdIs that might affect capacity planning.
