  • What causes this issue?

    You have called characteristic value assignment for a class item.
    However, you can only select a component via a class item by choosing
    the <PF>Find objects</> pushbutton.
    If the resulting component is a configurable material, you can call the
    characteristics of the material by choosing the <PF>Characteristics</>
    pushbutton.
    But first, a configuration profile must be maintained for the
    configurable material.

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    Choose the <PF>Find objects</> pushbutton to select a component via the
    class item. If the resulting component is configurable, you can go to
    the characteristic value assignment screen.
